Privacy Notice (GDPR)

This notice explains how we process personal data of users who visit and use www.hotelpetlovers.com (the “Site”). The data controller is AG Consulting srl, VAT 02167940671 (“we”, “us”, “our”). You can contact us at support@hotelpetlovers.com for any privacy question or request.

What data we process and why

We process:

• Data you provide (e.g., name, email, messages sent via forms, newsletter sign‑up, account data for property owners, information published in property listings, reviews or comments).
• Usage/technical data (e.g., IP address, device identifiers, browser data, logs) generated while browsing the Site.
• Cookies and similar technologies to run the Site and, subject to consent, for analytics/marketing (see Cookie Policy and the Cookie Preferences Center on the Site).
• Property information from publicly available sources or provided directly by accommodation providers, to publish, verify and maintain listings.

We use data to: provide and operate the Site (search and browse pet‑friendly stays, create and manage listings, respond to requests); manage paid plans and invoicing; ensure security and prevent abuse; perform aggregate statistics and improve the service; send service messages and, with consent or as allowed by law, newsletters and marketing about similar services.

Legal bases (Art. 6 GDPR)

Processing is based on: contract and pre‑contract measures (account creation, listing management, support, purchases); legal obligations (administrative, accounting and tax); consent (newsletter, non‑essential cookies, certain marketing); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, defense of rights, aggregate analytics, editorial verification and publication of publicly available information about accommodations—subject to your right to object).

Listings and user‑generated content

Property owners/managers may submit texts, photos, pet policies, prices, services, contacts and links. Our team can verify and, if needed, update or complement listings (with source attribution when using public sources). Reviews and comments must not include third‑party personal data or special‑category data; we may moderate or remove unlawful or irrelevant content.

Algorithms and ranking

We use in‑house tools, including AI techniques, to evaluate 100+ signals of pet‑friendliness (clarity of pet policy, services for dogs/cats, proximity to dog beaches/parks, review signals, photos, etc.) and to improve search relevance. These systems influence listing order but do not produce decisions solely automated with legal or similarly significant effects; human review is always possible.

Cookies

We use necessary cookies to run the Site and, subject to consent, analytics and marketing cookies. You can manage preferences anytime via the Cookie Preferences Center. Where possible, analytics are performed in aggregated or IP‑anonymized form. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Recipients and processors

We share data with trusted providers acting as processors under Art. 28 GDPR, such as hosting/cloud services, email/newsletter platforms, traffic analytics, anti‑abuse and security tools, payment processors for paid plans (e.g., PayPal/Stripe), and customer support tools. The updated list of processors is available on request at support@hotelpetlovers.com When you follow external links (e.g., to book on third‑party portals), processing occurs under the responsibility of those third parties.

International transfers

Some providers may be located outside the EEA. When transfers occur, we rely on adequacy decisions and/or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with supplementary measures where required (GDPR Chapter V). Further information is available from us upon request.

Retention

We retain data only for as long as necessary for the stated purposes: account and listing data while your profile/listing remains active; technical logs for security according to best practice; contact data for newsletters until you withdraw consent or object; administrative/accounting records for up to 10 years as required by law. After these periods, data are deleted or anonymized.

Your rights

You may exercise your rights at any time under Articles 15–22 GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdrawal of consent (without affecting prior lawful processing). Send requests to support@hotelpetlovers.com; we may ask for information needed to verify identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) at www.garanteprivacy.it or with your local supervisory authority.

Children

The Site is intended for adults. For information‑society services based on consent, the minimum age is that required by applicable national law (in Italy 14 years). Where necessary, we request consent from the holder of parental responsibility.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data (TLS encryption in transit, access controls, backups, logging, periodic review of permissions). No measure can guarantee absolute security; if an incident creates a high risk to individuals’ rights and freedoms, we will follow GDPR data‑breach procedures.

Mandatory or optional data

Fields marked as required are necessary to deliver the specific service requested (e.g., reply to a message, activate an account, publish a listing). Refusal prevents the provision of that service. Consent to non‑essential cookies and to newsletters is optional and can be withdrawn at any time.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect legal or operational changes. Updates will be posted here with the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will provide appropriate notice via the Site or by email where appropriate.
